Welcome to Miss Burlesque International

Miss Burlesque Australia was founded in 2009, and the standard for Australia’s first and biggest burlesque competition just keeps gets higher. This year, Australian burlesque artists are pulling out all the stops and creating totally new concepts to wow the industry and compete for the title.

This is a competition that allows performers to develop a brand and promote themselves at the same time as competing with their Australian burlesque peers. It’s a great platform for performers to debut new  routines and exhibit their unique skills to agents, producers and promoters. Some performers have produced their best work whilst competing in this event.

Competitors are encouraged to create awareness through the promotion and public relations section of the competition. Points will be awarded for promoting the competition, performers and sponsors, and generating excitement through social media and other platforms in the lead-up to the event. This helps performers develop an understanding of ‘who’ their personal burlesque brand would be and ‘what’ they stand for. It also gives them practice and experience in public relations – a vital element for success and longevity in this industry.
